On the eve of International Women’s Day, Talent has announced the appointment of two experienced female leaders in newly created global roles.
Káti Gapaillard has been named Chief Executive Officer of foundation Talent RISE, while Melissa Brown has been appointed Talent’s first global Chief Marketing Officer.
Both appointments represent significant milestones in Talent’s global expansion, as the business grows further into Europe and North America.
Melissa Brown was most recently Telstra’s Global Marketing Head for Field, Content & Digital within the Enterprise division based in Hong Kong. Since joining Telstra in 2008, Melissa also fulfilled the role of Head of Marketing for International. Prior to joining Telstra, Melissa held the position of Director at the Australian – United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce in the UK. She has also worked in a number of management roles in the media and travel industries.
Káti Gapaillard has extensive experience in the private, public and NGO sectors both locally and internationally. Most recently the Executive Director of Your Side Australia, Káti has also worked as the CEO of Tour de Cure, the National Manager of Strategy & Engagement for Life Without Barriers and the Marketing Communications Director of the National Heart Foundation of Australia.
Káti’s appointment comes on the back of several major developments in the evolution of Talent RISE, which is now operating in Australia, New Zealand and the UK with plans to expand into the US. As CEO, Káti will drive the global growth and development of RISE, working closely with the RISE youth consultants in each country to support young people with barriers to employment.
Melissa will be based in Talent’s growing San Francisco office, while Káti will lead RISE’s global operations from Sydney.
Talent Founder and Executive Chairman Richard Earl said Melissa and Káti added fresh perspectives and extensive experience to the global leadership group.
“I’m delighted with these appointments as they represent a massive step forward in our efforts to accomplish our vision of creating a truly global business. The fact that both appointees are female is incidental – they were both clearly the best person for the job!”
Káti said “Talent RISE is continuing to gather momentum in Australia, NZ and globally and I am very excited to be part of this movement to disrupt disadvantage and provide our young people with employment opportunities and enable them to find independence, purpose and dignity through work.”
Melissa said “I’m thrilled to be taking on this newly created role as the business expands further globally. Talent is changing the face of the recruitment industry with a unique combination of compassion and technology and it’s exciting to be tasked with growing the brand while the future of work is progressing at such a rapid pace.”
These appointments follow a period of exceptional financial growth for Talent, which delivered a record revenue increase of 15% in the six months to December 31, 2018.
