The Talent consolidated global group, including its UK business, expects to report an increase in revenue of 24% to $460 million for the 2016/17 financial year.
This caps off what has been an exceptional year of growth across Talent’s business, which has seen stellar results across the global group including 100% growth in Melbourne and significant revenue increases in Wellington and Hong Kong.
Mark Nielsen, Talent APAC CEO commented that the strong results across the Talent APAC branches were a result of a number of strategic enhancements and new leadership appointments.
“The growth can largely be attributed to new initiatives, diversified offerings now coming online and the rollout of Talent Engage, our new technology platform for supporting and developing the contactor workforces” Mr Nielsen said.
“The appointment of Juin Chan to lead the Hong Kong operation has also been instrumental in reinvigorating our Asian presence, with the development of a number of key relationships and new client wins across the region.”
Total contractor numbers grew by more than 20% and the last quarter of 2017 also saw the group set a revenue record for permanent placements.
In the UK and Europe, Talent has shrugged off early Brexit impact to finish strongly, with the company’s Bristol office experiencing excellent growth on the back of RPO and public-sector contract deals. Talent’s new Amsterdam office has made a very solid start and the team dedicated to Berlin’s start-up sector has posted great results.
Talent’s EMEA CEO Jon Butterfield said he felt very positive about the next 12 months as the company looked to establish a greater presence in mainland Europe.
The opening of Talent’s first US office in San Francisco in late 2016 has been met with enthusiasm from the American market as the group saw immediate synergies across global clients. Plans are already underway to expand the US offering to New York and Austin, to cover the East Coast and the South West.
Talent Founder Richard Earl, who is currently based in San Francisco, commented: “The USA market is keen to embrace us as a business and is impressed with our level of service and innovation, something not seen from traditional staffing agencies.
“We have also launched the Unleashed Awards in the US for the first time which has opened up many connections for us with new and emerging start-ups in Silicon Valley, who are all looking for unique solutions to find to tech and digital talent,” Mr Earl said.
